It has always been our goal to deliver a great conference that is also affordable. Even with that goal we understand that the regular ticket price is still unaffordable for many people in our community. Students, beginners, women, and minorities are often underrepresented at our events.
The benefits of conferences like ours are not only the scheduled talks, but meeting and talking with fellow web designers. If only a portion of our community can attend and share their experiences than we aren’t delivering on our goal.
This year we are offering scholarships to help those who can't afford a ticket. In the spirit of community and collaboration, these scholarships are graciously provided by a handful of local companies. We have teamed up with HER Ideas in Motion and the web education team at Tri-C to help us review applications and award the scholarships. The application deadline is August 28th and we will be notifying recipients by September 11th.
If you, or someone you know, can’t afford a ticket to attend Rustbelt Refresh please fill out our scholarship application form. We encourage students, beginners, women, and minorities to apply. Please note the scholarships cover ticket costs only (transportation and lodging are not included).
Also, we are still looking for companies to sponsor tickets. If you would like to help someone attend and make Rustbelt Refresh diverse and inclusive, please get in touch with us.
Help us spread the word and we look forward to seeing you at Rustbelt Refresh on September 25.
